Projects or programs funded in whole or in part with Federal grant money must credit the Federal government for the Federal government's portion of the financial support.  This webpage citation is intended to serve as formal notice that the use of Federal dollars in Johnsburg School District 12 meets the Stevens Amendment requirement.  Staff development opportunities, resource purchases, and personnel have been funded in whole or in part with Federal entitlement dollars.

Title I - Parents Right-to-Know Notification

In accordance with ESEA Section 1111(h)(6) PARENTS RIGHT-TO-KNOW, Johnsburg District #12 is notifying every parent of a student in a Title I school that you have the right and may request information regarding the professional qualifications of your child’s classroom teacher.  This includes the following information:

  • Whether the teacher has met state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction

  • Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or conditional certification

  • The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher or other graduate certification or degree, and the field of discipline of the certification or the degree.

  • The qualifications of any paraprofessional providing services to your child.

Regarding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Requests

Johnsburg School District 12 is committed to complying with requests for public records in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). All requests will be processed according to the requirements of FOIA and Johnsburg School District 12 policies and procedures.

Requests should be as specific as possible, so that the District can identify and search for the requested document(s). The written FOIA request should be dated and signed by the requester, and include a return address. It is also helpful to provide a phone number and/or email address, so that, if necessary, the FOIA Coordinator can contact the requester to clarify a request.
