Johnsburg Community School District 12 offers a full continuum of special education and related services to children ages 3-21, who meet specific eligibility criteria.  We are committed to  providing consultative, resource or instructional services in the least restrictive environment.  The goal of special education and related services is to support each child and address their individual needs.

If you, as a parent, have concerns about your child's progress, please contact either your home school or the Student Services Department. 

Interpreting

Any parent/guardian who is deaf or hard of hearing or does not typically communicate in English and who participates in an IEP or Section 504 meeting shall be entitled to an interpreter in order to be able to meaningfully participate in that meeting.  In the event parents/guardians request interpretation services, they also have the right to request the interpreter provided by the school district serve no other role in the meeting than as an interpreter, and the District will make reasonable efforts to fulfill this request.  To request an interpreter, please notify the case manager at least 10 days prior to the scheduled meeting, so they may request the interpreter.  

D12 PUNS Resources

PUNS (Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services) is a database that helps individuals seeking Developmental Disability Waiver services funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services. When funding is available, individuals are selected from PUNS and invited to apply for these services.
